Jorge Rodriguez Ferreiro

Jorge Rodríguez Ferreiro is a Certified Public Accountant graduated from the Escuela Superior de Comercio y Administración (ESCA) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) in Mexico. He brings over 29 years of experience in the financial sector, establishing himself as a leading figure in Internal Audit, Internal Control, and Corporate Compliance in the country.

He spent 12 years as part of the Internal Audit team at Banco Santander México, where he served as the Head of Internal Audit for three years. In this role, he actively participated in the Board of Directors, the Audit Committee, and the Comprehensive Risk Management Committee (CAIR), among other key governance bodies. He reported directly to the President of Banco Santander Spain, ensuring alignment between local operations and the Group’s global standards.

For a decade, he led the Internal Control Unit at Santander as Executive Director, overseeing the implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) in Mexico and managing the design, operation, and annual certification of the Internal Control Model. His responsibilities included coordinating control self-assessments, responding to regulatory inquiries, following up on audit recommendations, and leading corporate projects focused on key control indicators.

Prior to his tenure at Santander, Jorge built a strong technical foundation at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he worked for 7 years, reaching the position of Audit Manager. He participated in numerous complex financial, operational, and compliance audits for both national and international companies.

Currently, he serves as Managing Partner at Nyssen Ethics, a firm specializing in outsourced Internal Audit services, implementation of Internal Control Models, Risk Management, and Ethical and Regulatory Compliance.

In this role, he advises organizations across various industries on strengthening their control functions, aligning with international frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000, SOX), and adopting emerging technologies for continuous auditing.

Jorge is recognized for his strategic mindset, ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and commitment to fostering a culture of ethics, transparency, and continuous improvement within organizations. He has been a speaker at numerous national forums, a contributor to professional development initiatives, and a mentor to new generations of internal auditors.
